Designer has used photoshop to manipulate this photograph. The cloud has been modfied to look like a pointing finger. The colours of the image are very dark, dull and mostly grey. All the of the lines in the image are very straight and thin. The grss has been made to look smooth as if the wind is blowing and also the road look flawless and smooth. The road is just a little further to the left than the viewer would see it if they were driving th car. Enough room has been left so that the sign, poloce car and the cloud can be seen well.

Maya was used to construct the levels and place hazards and obstacles. The graphics themselves were based on using and animating Bezier curves. The characters in the game and alot of the scenery are very jelly like. Everything is 2D and there has been no effort to give it more shape with colour or texture. All of the colours are very bright and flat. The lack of opacity in some of the background scenery give it some depth. Most of the lines and landscapes in the game are wavey and curving giving it a flowing and fun feel. Most of the shapes in the game are circular and able to squash when hitting things adding to the bouncy and squishy fun effect.

I have found some designs from the recent past that could have been influences for the friendly and happy characters in Locoroco. Such as:

This image has been manipulated using photoshop. The technique used is extremely simple and fast. To produce it the designer has taken a photograph of a tree, rotated it, copied and flipped it. The image may have been skewed or stretched a little maybe using the liquify tool to that it represents the shape of a pair of lungs well.

The lines in the image are very spindly and brittle like and due to the quantity and positioning of the lines we can see depth and detail and giving it more of a 3D feel. The lines do well to represent veins as they are similarly positioned and run from thick to thin and from little to many towards the outside. The image being black and white has a very powerful effect and lets the viewer concentrate on the impressive idea and the detail of each branch/vein. The image looks very delicate and but the branch like veins give it a brittle effect. The shape Obviously resembles a pair of lungs but also has a spider like look to it.
